HISTORY

Oak Valley Church was founded in June 1990, by Pastors Tom and Joyce Villalobos. Pastors Gordon and Wanda Young sent them out of Church on the Hill in Redlands, with blessing to plant a new church. Opening services were celebrated in a school in Calimesa and the church experienced steady growth.

God miraculously opened the door to lease and renovate the former Bank of America facility in Calimesa, which had stood empty for many years. The second part of this miracle came in 1994, when God moved on the heart of the bank building property owner to “sell” the building to our church for only ONE DOLLAR. The former bank building was evidence of God’s hand upon the church. This generous gift provided the resources to pay cash for nine acres of freeway frontage property in Calimesa.

In April of 2000, the OVC celebrated the opening of their new multi-purpose facility. After ten years of growth and no means to expand at this location and in following the vision and purposes of God, OVC purchased a new campus located on the same frontage road approximately two miles west in Yucaipa city limits. The Administrative offices are operating at this new location. We will continue continue to hold all church services at our Calimesa site until we have completely remodeled our new campus.
